Location Scout - What a Find!

I just received news from the Producer, Sarah Israel, of a locations scout to Buntzen Lake on the morning of January 29th, 2007. Below is an account of the event, written by Israel, complete with photos of the locations.

"Anthony, Rory, Ed and I headed out to Buntzen Lake this morning. It took a little under an hour to get there, which isn't half-bad. Anthony knew the guy in charge of the park, from working there for a few months apparently, so we got a key to the gate and headed over to the side of the lake that has cabins. The whole thing was very 'Stephen King', as Rory said. It was foggy and overcast, and there was no one around for miles. But as Rory also said, he knew instantly while getting out of the car that we just had to shoot here."

"Basically, there are two cabins within about 100 meters of each other that are completely perfect. They're totally empty inside so we would be able to build from scratch. One of the cabins has a dock on the water and the view is spectacular ... Here's to hoping that we get to shoot here. I'm speaking to our execs right now and should know fairly soon whether or not I can start working on securing the location. "

So I Hear There's A Deer...

Still in the works is the possibility of getting a deer - in the movie! All you animal lovers out there should have no reason to worry. If "The Reliant" can get approval for it, the deer will have its own handler on set with it at all times. It will be treated with respect, fed properly, and be given lots of unabated love. Although...I fear we should keep Ian and Dani away from the deer.

Produced by Sarah Israel, "The Reliant" is a short film Directed by Rory James Wood and Ed Derouin that is currently in Pre-Production. It will be entering Production in about a month, and will be premiered in April 2007. Keep checking this blog for updates on the Film's progress.
